This Cancellation Policy explains how to cancel a subscription, course enrolment, or Tour and Event booking with Grow South Africa, and what happens when you (or we) cancel. Money matters are covered separately in our Refund Policy.
1. Cancelling a membership
You can cancel any paid membership (Member, Amplifier, Leader, Flagship) at any time. There are no cancellation fees and no minimum contract.
- How to cancel: sign in and use the cancel option in your Dashboard, or email matthys@growsouthafrica.co.za from the address on your account.
- What happens next: your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that date, recurring billing stops, your Business Registry listing is set to private, and your account reverts to the free Fan tier (your account is not deleted unless you ask us to).
- Re-subscribing: you can re-subscribe at any time. Your business profile data is kept for 12 months so you can pick up where you left off.
The free Fan tier has no billing and so does not need to be cancelled. To close a free account entirely, email us and we will delete it.
2. Cancelling a course
Course access is generally lifetime once purchased. There is nothing recurring to cancel. If you wish to request a refund within the 14-day window described in our Refund Policy, email us and your access will be removed at the same time the refund is processed.
3. Cancelling a Tour or Event booking (by you)
To cancel a Tour or Event booking, email matthys@growsouthafrica.co.za with your booking reference. The amount refunded depends on how much notice you give:
- 30+ days before start: 90% refund.
- 15–29 days before: 50% refund.
- 7–14 days before: 25% refund.
- Less than 7 days, or no-show: non-refundable.
Transferring your booking: with our written approval and at least 7 days' notice, you may transfer your place to another person at no additional fee, provided the new participant accepts the same terms and meets any eligibility requirements (age, fitness level, valid ID for the activity).
Rescheduling: with at least 14 days' notice, you may move your booking to another available date within 12 months for a small admin fee, instead of cancelling.
4. Cancellation by Grow South Africa
From time to time we may need to cancel a Tour or Event. Reasons include:
- Minimum participant numbers not reached.
- Safety concerns, including weather, road conditions, or local conditions at a destination.
- Force majeure events (load-shedding emergencies, pandemic restrictions, civil unrest, natural disasters).
- Operator issues outside our control.
If we cancel, you will be offered a full refund or a credit to reschedule onto another date or experience of equivalent value. Where reasonably possible, we will give at least 14 days' notice.
We are not liable for incidental costs you may have arranged separately (flights, leave, accommodation outside the booking). We recommend travel insurance for all multi-day Tours.
5. Cancellation by Grow South Africa for breach
We may cancel a membership, course access, or Tour and Event booking without refund if a participant breaches our Terms of Service — including unsafe behaviour on a tour, harassment of other participants or staff, fraudulent payment, or providing false information at the time of booking.
6. Contact
All cancellations should be sent to matthys@growsouthafrica.co.za. We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days.
